One of the last of my pheasant shots this year, now that the breeding season is well underway a lot of the cock pheasants are starting to get a little ragged looking. I'll need to wait for our deer to get their full summer coats before my next project.

The last in my pheasant series this year, It'll give them a chance to

get on with their breeding without the bloke with the big white lens

looking!

I did not use a converter for this one, only the 300 on it's own. Being a gamekeeper for the past 20 years helps refine techniques for getting close to the birds. The biggest problem I have is getting the pheasants to stay about 8-10 feet away from me.....any closer and I have to use my 70-200 with a 1.4 converter. I'm just lucky, I suppose, to have a job that gives me the time to get the birds confidence.
