a_is_for_altitude 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Butterfly? Damsel Fly? Or something eating a butterfly? VERY INTERESTING!
a_is_for_altitude 0 Posted March 7, 2007 haha! The first time a PHOTO posted here has made me go look something up! Here is what I found...did you know? "The Golden Helicon is poisonous as well, but only to birds and not enough to kill them. Just enough to keep them from trying to eat another one. The Golden Helicon's diet of Passion vine (Passiflora) leaves are the cause of this." http://bugguide.net/node/view/81 THANK YOU!!!
ctp 0 Posted March 7, 2007 I was just gonna give you that link but you were faster than me and you found it without me:)I am glad you like it:)
gabi_raoul 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Beautiful shot with excellent colors, light, composition and presentation! Best regards, Gabi
jim kerr 0 Posted March 10, 2007 C.T., my guess is that this is a butterfly. All the damsel and dragonflies I've seen have two sets of long narrow wings......Yet another super good macro shot......Jim
jim kerr 0 Posted March 10, 2007 Chris, I can't promise you for sure to be able to get down there, health is not the best, over weight and short of breath.....but I do hope to be there with you......I also use a 70-300, but mine isn't a Canon, mine is a Sigma that I use on my Pentax *ist DL........Later.....Jim
