stato19 0 Posted March 9, 2007 It looks as if the image has been overexposed. You should meter on the light or (neutral)area of the image and open your exposure up a little. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Holman, I agree w/ the last post. Seriously over exposed,i.e., excessive light on the face and neck. Photography is "all about light". It's obvious you're serious about your work (read your bio)...so I'm going to be honest w/ you and strongly urge you to begin to find some good, solid, books that cover the basics of photography, study them, and begin to try to practice what you've learned in a very conscious way. Don't let the immensity of it all overwhelm you...take it a step at a time. Ask questions in the forum sites and don't be afraid to ask the experienced guys help you. Until you learn "the basics" you won't progress...and I know that's your goal. Best regards...john Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted May 5, 2007 with all due respect...William's comments were correct, but if you don't understand the terminology he used, e.g., "overexposed", "open up your exposure a little", ...or if you don't understand what metering is and how it works, then you'll feel nothing but frustration. it's easy for any of us to make a good hearted effort to offer constructive comments/ instruction...but we (myself included) often define a term with three more terms that need to be defined if the one receiving the advice is to make any sense of it. It would be great if you could link up with someone locally who is an experienced photographer and allow him to teach/mentor you. I have such a person in my life and I don't know what I'd do without him! Link to comment
