oscar1 0 Posted April 30, 2002 Taken with the Minolta Autocord and the close-up attachment Rolleinar- 3, so a very shallow deep of field. Do you like the image? Link to comment
bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted April 30, 2002 Never having met Meritxell, I can't say for certain, but it appears that her features are distorted. (Does she like how her nose looks?) Your comments indicate this was done with a closeup adapter. Taking photos at close distance will exaggerate the things closest to the camera, in this case the nose. Link to comment
s_mccutcheon 0 Posted April 30, 2002 The portrait would be more flattering if a close up adapter were not used and you adjusted your distance from her to keep the same framing. As presented, this seems to exaggerate her features. Link to comment
hexenwolfe 0 Posted May 1, 2002 Take a similar photo with a medium telephoto lens (eg, 110mm for 35mm camera). You will find that the image is much more flattering to the subject. Link to comment

jeroen wesdorp 0 Posted August 13, 2002 Hi Oscar! This looks like an indoor portrait, right? If so, then I don't really see a need for the shallow depth of field, since you control the background. However, I don't think you forgot the distorting effect of the close-up lense. Am I right? Anyway, I quite like the result! The composition is very nice, with both her clothes and hair accentuating and framing her features. She doesn't look completely relaxed though. If I ever find out a way to avoid this, I'll let you know. Gets me every time too... Cheers, Jeroen Link to comment
