ed_mulholland 0 Posted May 1, 2002 I was lucky in that Johnny Tapia came to my side of the ring when the first scorecard was announced even 114-114, prompting him to go into prayer mode (He won on the other two cards 115-113 and captured the IBF Featherweight title in a disputed decision) Link to comment
richard_brown1 1 Posted May 2, 2002 Mr Mulholland, I like the shot it has good emotion. I believe film would have been the better medium, the digital noise is quite distracting. Link to comment
ed_mulholland 0 Posted May 2, 2002 I agree, film probably would have been the better medium, however I was shooting for a 24/7 boxing website, and need to submit my photos immediately following the event, so digital suits the need. Don't know why the noise was higher on this one than the others??? Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted May 15, 2002 Great shot which unfortunately is a little soft in focus. Link to comment
james_miller2 0 Posted May 16, 2002 I like the sense drama in this photo. The perspiration and the welts visible on Tapia's shoulder really convey the intensity of boxing. The figures in the background are a bit distracting, however. Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Two very rare 9's from me for this shot. The blood sweat and tears are all evident and that is all. No identity of the fighter adds to the world he lives in. This is alomost a saleable photo. To make it so in my opinion you would need to edit out the mans head in his imediate background. Fantastic shot Mike Sea Link to comment
ed_mulholland 0 Posted May 21, 2002 Thank you for the compliments. I understand totally about the guy in the immediate background. It's very hard to shoot with all the people in the ring at major fights. I havent edited out, because I dont know how boxing magazines, which are really the only outlet to sell this to would feel about that. I have contacted a few regarding this and other photos. Thanks again. Link to comment
