Your idea is a good one. However, for me, the foreground looks overexposed and the background looks very underexposed. Also, a filter might pop some of those colors, as well. Also, I'd like to see the photo taken horizontally and perhaps from a much lower view (photographer getting on the ground himself)

Yes, I agree with you that this shot is a bit over-exposed. What filter would you recommend that I use, perhaps a neutral density? I have a circular polarizer, let me know. And about the lowering of one's level, maybe a little, but you would lose viewing angle to the decaying wood and two tires in the back.
