DrewBayless 3 Posted February 25, 2007 Wow. You've framed this series of acrobats perfectly. Technically they seem very good also - are you using some sort of fast telephoto with image stabilisation? Any technical details you can share? I think if I tried this I would end up with too much noise or too much blur (especially if I was trying to freeze some action like in the hoops shot). alan p 0 Posted February 25, 2007 Drew, thanks very much for your comments. I think actually I was lucky here - I was about 3 rows back from the stage and the lighting was very bright. I just used my standard 18-135mm Nikkor at about 135mm setting and set the ISO to 1600. I was then able to use some fairly fast shutter speeds (up to about 200th second) when needed. I forgot to change the light balance setting (just left in on auto). They kept using the stage smoke so I figured I could get away with using ISO1600 without it being too grainy. These are as they came out of the camera - no tweaking in software yet. Cheers. Link to comment

ashuseye 0 Posted August 16, 2007 Alan, I'd have cropped the photo so only a couple of inches of the stool is visible... nice photo, nevertheless. Link to comment
