I'm not usually a fan of bird shots. I really like this one. Lovely blurring of background, colors work beautifully together, and it's a tack-sharp capture of a beautiful blue-jay. Really well done. Congrats.

I'm not sure how you always manage to get the sun to provide you with such nice natural spotlights. The sun out here is not nearly so cooperative :) You have definately devoloped a recognizable style that is very nice. Keep up the good work and as always thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks Leroy, the sun "is" different here, largely due to how far north we are.

In early winter, it's gone at about 4:15 p.m. There is, however, about a 20 minute period right before it sets when it is golden light, perfect and beautiful. I will have some of the same issues you face though in the summer. Had a lot of problems this past summer doing macros. Hopefully I've learned enough since then to compensate.
