mary fran 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Thanks John, caught the right way they have a lovely dove like softness to them. When I see them straight on they remind me of the Penguin in Batman, and all I can do is laugh. Link to comment
petewelsh 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Another smashing bird shot Mary ... Well done. I went out today and got a few Swan portraits ... must get them on here :) Link to comment
Dieter Schaefer 20,304 Posted February 21, 2007 Great shot with very good detail; you got these little ones trained very well by now! Regards, Dieter Link to comment
leroy laverman 0 Posted February 22, 2007 Nice portrait of this bird. The OOF elements in the bottom of the picture draw the eye some. You might consider cloning them out or burning them in to darken the highlights. The bird itself is very nice. Link to comment

mary fran 0 Posted February 23, 2007 Thank you all, a rare opportunity to get such a detailed portrait of a small wild bird. Thanks Leroy for the suggestion. I'm afraid I'm seeing far too many poorly composed, out of focus, busy and poorly exposed bird shots make it to TRP's to spend a lot of time editing these as the return is not there. I'm afraid I'd rather invest my time more productively, I've never liked Politicians and I don't make a good one. Ratings here seem to depend on that, and I'm no longer learning much about quality photography. I AM learning an awful lot about the games people play to get to the TRP's and that PN has little interest in manageing the rating system they created nor do they have any interest in Customer Service. I'll be around to use up what's left on my membership, but have found some greener pastures as they say. Link to comment
