I think the bird is too low in the frame, the lower wing is clipped. But the lighting is good, you've captured a good moment in time, and the fast shutter speed created a beautiful background from the water.

Dennis, It was a quick shot from a moving ferryboat I was in, and I didn't make any effort to fix it afterwards on pc, I've just captured the moment!

Thanks for your honesty, and for sharing this really nice capture. Sometimes we just get lucky. Probably more time than we want to admit...;)

Hello John, nice to talk to 'ya and thanks for kind words. In fact, simplicity's something that almost everyone is running from..! That's why I try not to complicate things, using in post-producing very easy-to-handle softwares as Photoimpression & Picasa. I don't even know how to use PS although I have it in my pc. Peace, Sergio.

How do you make the water so beautiful... you amaze me! The bird looks like it just floats on air without moving its wings... (sigh) I wish I could do that :) ~ well done :) ~ micki

Hi Micki, good to talk to 'ya & many thanks for kindness. I was testing my new lens Nikkor 70-300mm AF-D/ED[equiv. to 105-450mm in D80 body]aboard the ferry in which I go to work everyday for 40 years; the camera was in S mode to achieve high speed not to blur the bird on flight (ISO 200-1/620)handheld; the zoom was equiv. to 450mm; then I made a sequence of 4 or 5 shots - this is the best one . Later at home, using Picasa soft I've just gave one "small touch" in sharpness & colour warming, that's all. Micki, I'm in love w. this lens... God bless you. Sergio

p.s.: two questions Micki: 1st., are you Andrew's other side of coin? 2nd., does that eye Andrew photographed belong to 'ya? Good God, what a nice & gentle couple I've found..! God bless U2. Sergio
