gk photography 0 Posted April 27, 2002 This is gorgeous! I've seldom seen a cityscape this beautiful. I first notice the colors, then the gentle curve of the horizon, then the detail. Only one concern: it doesn't seem terribly sharp. I would have liked to see you use a smaller aperture for such a wonderful image. Link to comment

cts 0 Posted April 28, 2002 ... the problem was in the processing of this picture. I made some corrections and uploaded a better version. Thanks for the remark. Link to comment
sergei_shestakov 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Christian, a wonderful view youve captured. Why is it so blue? It works fine here anyway. I find it difficult to photograph New York cityscapewhat new can you possibly say herebut Ive never seen such a photo before I must admit. Cheers --Sergei Link to comment
cts 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Serguei, all this blue is dued to the use of "tungsten" film, balanced for interior lightning.Charles, for a version with less sky, look here Manhattan sunset (3). Link to comment
carl smith 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Bizarre colors. Great use of tungsten film in the 'wrong' conditions. Very moody and interesting. Link to comment
sergei_shestakov 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Christian, I liked the shot so much that I thought Id go back with a suggestion. What if this image is de-saturated in PS and then tritone-colored, e.g. shadows in black, mid-tones in blue, highlights in yellow? Just an idea Link to comment
denmojo 0 Posted April 29, 2002 Great use of tungsten film. Never crossed my mind that it could produce such an effect. Stunning cityscape picture. Link to comment
