Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2007 I think this one is excellent, too. With the one on the right, I can't resist the feeling of wanting to see what a razor sharp version of the scene would look like. Link to comment
samcisa 0 Posted February 20, 2007 Same as above and I think, the tires could be a little more defined. From the other side, I am not sure if it would be possible by that lighting. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted February 21, 2007 actually i like this one best for its lack of sharpness. it has a sense of realy mystery for me and i find myself quite drawn to it. Link to comment
DrewBayless 3 Posted February 21, 2007 Linda, I personally think that if lack of sharpness works at-all, it does so to better effect here. Matthias, that right-most pic was my least favourite, comp wise & I'm not sure about the blur either. Samir, yes, although I quite like the lack of definition for some reason. Interesting to see the different preferences among these three. Its understandable we all see and appreciate images in different ways. Thanks for the food for thought, all very helpful. Cheers. street photography karina 0 Posted February 23, 2007 I think both work, but a sharper more detailed version would be a totally different photo. And btw, I love the quote in your bio :) Link to comment
lars_brorson_fich 0 Posted February 25, 2007 I like it blurred, I think it will lose much of its mood by getting sharp. Re. Lars Link to comment
DrewBayless 3 Posted February 25, 2007 Thanks Laurent,I liked that, glad it seems to have come across. Karina, thanks also, glad you like the quote. Lars, I appreciate your view. I've had some good thoughts here and elsewhere about the effect of blur - very useful. Hi Frank, hey! I remember you....you're the guy who couldn't take a bad picture even when you tried, right? ;-) Cheers. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 27, 2007 I like the crosswalk heading through the wall and into The Twilight Zone. Link to comment
eric stolk 0 Posted March 17, 2007 great compo, classic.maybe it's me, but i can't quite distinguish the black 'shape'.that distracts me (i can't be bothered what it is, the shape is good and in the right place, but it irritates me that i can't see what it is..irritating is good though) Link to comment
DrewBayless 3 Posted March 23, 2007 Jack - twilight zone - I like that, thanks for your view. Love your turn of phrase - maybe you can help Rick with his bio? Rick, irritating can also just be irritating ;-) But yes it can be good also. You might prefer this. Leaving room for imagination without being merely unclear and confusing..tricky to get the balance..Thanks, that's a useful comment. Link to comment
