Great photo. I like the composition where the bird is flying mostly towards the center of the frame. It is a shame that the eye and head are not a bit brighter. Perhaps that is why so many nature photographers use on-camera fill-flash with a beam-narrower. It would be interesting to see this with a bit of flash added.

Hey Philip ... thanks, someone also mentioned about using some fill flash on one of my swan photos - I should try some flash sometimes.

Great shot...Very nicely done to capture the wing span in such detail....keep up the great work...I'll leave the bird shots up to you because they always fly at my head. I dont think me and birds see eye to eye...they would rather chase me...hahaha

Thanks Kari ... birds fly at your head? Did you have any bad experiences with crows? I know they do fly at people.
