Wonderful shot ... love the colours and detail in the bird. Nice contrasting background.

I also like love the background with this bird. I never see them flying around in the winter. Would it be possible, however, to sharpen the image of the bird. The tail, in particular, seems a little out of focus.

Very nice cardinal on ice. I particularly like that you were able to keep texture in the snow without any burn out. Congrats!

Great shot here. The birds color and the tonal range on the snow are real draws for the eye. I would probably choose a more subtle color for the signature though, as that's the third thing my eye goes to - I think the rule is you want that to be the last thing the viewer sees with an image. For me it went:

wing

snow shadows

head point

out

 

My only other nit would be that I would rather the bird be on the left if he is looking to the right. I think that's a "rule" too. Who the heck knows with all these rules though - if it works for you, that's all that matters. Overall, this works for me! 6/5.
