James Kazan 17 Posted February 15, 2007 I like this effect because if I stand corrected this was done in the camera. What was the shutter speed? Good "street" shot. Link to comment
drybrain 0 Posted February 15, 2007 thanks, Jim. tech parameters of the shot: 1/60, f8, Sigma 28-200 at 92 mm zoom (that is 138 mm analog equivalent), 200 ISO equivalent. no flash (should have used fill flash, just did not think fast enough). PS manipulations: crop, slight saturation of yellow, desaturation of cyan, darkening of red and white. Link to comment
ameripol 0 Posted February 17, 2007 a great contrast between modern and ancient, between cultures. However, I thought the image a little low contrast and flat. Try darkening the foreground and background slightly to focus the eye on the subject, to isolate him further in his own world. Link to comment
street photography karina 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Great street moment. And I think the post processing is quite good. I like the predominant white and yellow. Link to comment
drybrain 0 Posted February 18, 2007 thanks for the critique. i see your point, but i flattened it on purpose; the original was too dark and contrasty. i suspect, i will need to do layer work which i do no know how to do to get to your point. the question of subject isolation - i can try that see how it looks, though my goal her was to show him in context of the city, not isolated. drybrain 0 Posted February 18, 2007 thanks for stopping by. i think you see this image just as i did: i was intrigued by the white and yellow, so i desaturated the blues a bit. i was debating what do do with the reds, and decided to leave them so the cars do not look strange - they are an active part of the image.
