Guest Guest Posted February 11, 2007 What I like about this photo is (to me) its emotional ambiguity. It makes me feel a lot of unsettling feelings and it will take some time to sort them out. Very unique and provocative. Link to comment
dwrek 0 Posted February 11, 2007 Very gripping and original - me likey! I'm not sure how I feel about the composition personally (as in, if I were in a similar situation I doubt I would have shot it this way), but I know the message you were going for, and it definitely comes through in this photograph. And really, isn't that all that matters? ;) Link to comment

Donna Stavis 0 Posted September 27, 2007 This reminds me of a scene from Louis Malle's film "Au Revoir Les Enfants." The boy in that movie (you may have seen it) is French, around this age, and submerges himself completely in the bath (of the village bathhouse) for a few seconds too long. It's hard to articulate the feeling conveyed--perhaps you did already in what you and Fred wrote--there was a fear of the boy wanting to retreat totally and escape this way or just playing mind games with the people in charge. Moody and very interesting shot. Link to comment
