mariellen romer 0 Posted February 6, 2007 Trying it a bit 'edgier' than the original pic - your thoughts are welcome. Link to comment
nichroe 0 Posted February 6, 2007 Fine color but the idea is in the top of the picture, try to cut half. But I like it for sure. Link to comment

mariellen romer 0 Posted February 17, 2007 The original picture is in the "structures" section. Using Photoshop, I cranked up the colors in shadow and highlights and then the saturation to maximum, darkened it, and the put it through "grain" a few times. Not very scientific, I havent found out yet if PS Elements tracks changes to replicate the effect, I was more just playing to get this. Glad you like it. I am unsure if the comment about cutting the pic at the half picture to way mark works for me, so have left it so far. I wanted it to look like a bench not fully (unrecognisably) simply an abstract. snapshooter 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Hi Mariellen. It's a very eye catching abstract. Reminds me of Chroma Solarization effect. I'm guessing that Niels comments were referring to the impact created by the large area of blue, and the cut-off seat bars below the first arm rest They attract so much attention, they tend to minimize the actual full benches in the upper half. I think it's quite interesting and attractive, though it may be one of those, where the title, initially causes uncertainty or puzzlement. I think it's an excellent surrealistic piece. JohnMWright 1 Posted March 5, 2007 I am also reminded of solarization. I like the convergence effect here. Well done! Link to comment
mariellen romer 0 Posted March 6, 2007 A lot of you chaps have patiently waited for this, but this crop just doesn't work for me at all. Any other suggestions for a different crop with a better result? Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Hi Mariellen. I didn't care for that new crop, either. Even less, when it took just under 12 minutes to load, lol. I liked your original just fine. Thought others might find that expanse of blue between the end of the foreground bench and the middle/second bench, a bit confusing, because the seat strips/rods, didn't seem to match. Here's what I had in mind, but only if it was causing concern, or low ratings. Link to comment
