ye 0 Posted May 19, 2002 Hi tezka.Great work - both - original, and posted versions.I'd like to particularly commend you for making public the technical details in a "controversial" environment. I believe, that photo.net is extremely interesting to a lot of people, because they can learn from others of a greater skill and often talent. Link to comment

brian_kurotsuchi 0 Posted June 22, 2002 Great shot! I was looking at the photo of the week gallery index and was immediately caught by this photo. *Real* photos impress me much more than digitally created ones, so I think your photo here is a fine piece of work. -BK Link to comment

dragonfly606 0 Posted January 25, 2003 I am somewhat new to this site. Have been spending so many hours being inspired by so many of all these GREAT photographers works. ALL of you! I'm 40 years old, and go from page to page saying to myself...When I grow up, I want to be just like him/her. I ran across this photo and the "aahhh" came out of my mouth. I clicked on it right away, it stopped me and my mouse in our tracks. And then...I felt as though I was at a friends Family dinner. A bunch of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents. A DYSFUNCTIONAL family. Fighting and bickering amongst themselves. All getting in a bigger dig than the person before them. At first, I was amazed. This was not constructive criticism, it was "bashing". Then I started to become slightly uncomfortable. Feeling like an outsider, witnessing a fight meant only for intimate Family members. By the end of my read, I was actually laughing. Because it was just so incredibly ridiculous. I LOVE this...."whatever" it is. It inspires me to work harder, and let my imagination and dreams guide me. Thank You AGAIN Yuri, for the inspiration. Link to comment

mario_carvalho 0 Posted March 3, 2003 English is not my language. As a foreign speaker, sometimes I find very difficult choosing the right words to express my feelings towards an image. But before such a great photo like this one, I become completely speechless... Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted July 13, 2003 Mark Richards summed it up perfectly: It is important to know what tools (e.g. Photoshop) were used in the creation of the work. But usage of these tools does not inherently create a "lesser" work. Beyond simply appreciating and evaluating the final work, there is value in understanding whether or not the tools enhanced the work and in what ways. In fact, I very much prefer the shot Yuri submitted to his original negative. I truly doubt that the original would have struck the same chord that the "final" work did with the viewers. I like the heightened contrast of the birds as they fly through the scene and the added dimension it brings. The "unnatural" feel of the image that many have commented on, strangely, adds to its appeal for me. I know Yuri's native language is not English, but I absolutely love the title: "In the morning of a foggy - duck flied...". Reminds me of the title of some Robert Frost poem. Link to comment
