Very cute. Good light and framing. I kind of wish that there was more depth of field but I realize that the shutter speed might have been unacceptably slow.

I'm with you, John. I agree. It is just that given the lighting and the time you have to shoot before the mother duck goes nuts because you are too close, a huge aperture was pretty much my only option. Maybe in the future I'll try to dial up my ISO a bit to get more DOF. Most of the shots from this day ended up with blurring anyway from movement and slow shutter speed. I reckon you're better sticking with the shallow depth of field and low ISO. High noise is so frustrating when it encroaches on feather detail - it becomes impossible to remove. I think the DOF works perfectly on this picture.
