kslonaker 0 Posted February 4, 2007 Thought of cloning out the rope, but decided not to. Comments? Link to comment
yttergaarden. 0 Posted February 4, 2007 Perfect shot, but i am wondering aboat the rope. Maby - maby not :-) Link to comment
armpro 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Yes, clone out the rope. Otherwise, good composition. Poor cardinal needs all his tail in the picture. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted February 5, 2007 Excellent composition, very good exposure & light,Kim. Your model is cute.I also feel that rope could have been cloned. Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted February 5, 2007 The "extreme cloning" looks better, but this was a trash picture from the start. You can't post a picture of a fully posed cardinal with half of his tail cut off. I know your work, and therefore, I know you know better than this. I do the same thing on occasion and would expect the same from you or anybody else. Link to comment
fergi 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Great shot, but Scott is right. Almost better to fully extricate the bird and place her in a different venue that you can control. Still very good picture, DOF and all. Fortunately, there are millions of birds. fergi Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 5, 2007 This is very impressive capture of this lovely bird and so well exposed , great details and very colorful photograph www.camerause.com Link to comment
williammccarey 0 Posted February 5, 2007 I would say clone the rope, but do not remove the tree branches and tree trunk. You have the bird positioned well and you are showing it in its native habitat. The focus is good, the background is perfectly complementary. The cropping of the tail is unfortunate as a perfect bird shot needs that element. I do think the heavy black frame is too much. Link to comment
tiffanydawn 0 Posted February 6, 2007 Very nice, Kim I do like it better without the rope :-) Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 6, 2007 This is not a contest entry; I realize the tail missing is a big deal, but I loved the light and pose. I have a feeder set up at this tree (hence the rope), so I'm sure I'll have ample opportunity during the five months of the contest to get a more "perfect" shot (I hope). Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted February 9, 2007 Nice! It seems your newer work here is much brighter... Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 9, 2007 Maybe it's the new camera, Sarah. Went from a D100 to a D200 in November. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 10, 2007 Very good light indeed and the colour of the branches and bg really help the red> The tail will have to wait till next time. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 17, 2007 I don't necessarily like the "extreme cloning", but I think that it could do without the rope. I love your shots of cardinals........ Link to comment
