torfinn 0 Posted February 4, 2007 A very nice shot. Good colours, and composition. You have lost the sky a little, and my personal opinion is that you should have tilted the image a little to the left. It is still a very good shot. Best regards, Torfinn. Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted February 4, 2007 I'm not sure about the tilt, but "getting the sky" is much easier said than done and you actually got pretty close here). You've really only got 2 or three options to get the whole thing properly exposed... shoot with a nd grad filter (but then you'd end up with a line of unexposed rocks and trees on the upper left and right... shoot twice with two different exposures and combine them later in photoshop (lots of work but probably would come out pretty good assuming there's not much wind to move the trees around) or... compose differently and try to avoid including much if any of the sky? This works well the way it is, but the exposure has too much lattitude. Link to comment
vle 0 Posted February 4, 2007 I think eliminating the sky would remove the distraction from the image. Although, by lowering the angle it would make the foreground more dominant which is fine if there are stronger water current to suggest continuity from the waterfalls. I'm not sure if it this would work or not but I would try to come closer, not to include the sky, lessen the side of rock on the left (too dominant I think) and add the calm water section and its reflection of the waterfalls to the foreground to complement the falls.
