allan_jamieson2 3 Posted April 20, 2002 Great sky, it really brings the whole picture to life. This looks not unlike the Cuillin Mountains on Skye, which also from certain angles seem to rise straight up out of the sea. Link to comment
bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted April 20, 2002 Nice shot. Unfortunately, I think it is an example of the type of shot that's been devalued, by the evolution of digital photography. Because the clouds can be added and manipulated, the naturally occuring shot doesn't wow us as much as it used to. Still a very pleasing photo. Well done. Link to comment
fototheque 0 Posted April 21, 2002 OK Bob, lets see you add some clouds like that to one of your shots then! MJ (ps You can't cut the "lake" out of this photo, it's Milford Sound for God's sake! that's the whole point of going!) Link to comment
paul pinkley 0 Posted April 22, 2002 Thanks everyone for the feedback and comments on the photo. The only manipulation done to the photo was to make the scan look as the original does. It was scanned on a "low end" flatbed scanner so the original looks better than what I have submitted. Thx again for the comments! Link to comment
elizabeth_espointour 0 Posted April 22, 2002 Great cloud photo. I would like it better if you cropped out the water and shoreline, as it causes my eye to go back and forth, when the clouds are really the great subject. Link to comment
hans andersson 0 Posted April 23, 2002 Whaqt a weather? I like when the sky is like this. Link to comment
indraneel 0 Posted May 6, 2002 I would also like the lake cropped out. (either show the lake all of it or not at all) Link to comment
tom_mcdonnell 0 Posted March 22, 2004 WOW...the clouds are outrageous...I've never quite seen cloud formations like that. Must be New Zealand feature...I like the dark sky to show the contrast of those magnificent clouds. Keep the water...It helps balance the composition. Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted June 15, 2005 Those clouds are amazing Paul. You've really brought out the drama in the sky and conveyed the volatility of NZ weather, particularly on that west coast. Very nice work. Regards, Leigh. Link to comment
always_wanderlust 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Amazing clouds. One of the many places I will visit in the future. Link to comment
