I think I counted about $4.00 worth. More than I have in my purse. So... is this a new lense? This is really cool what you are doing lately! This has that feeling like those old pencil rubbings we did as kids. I like how this new lense makes the coins almost look like they have a roundness to them. They look almost real on my screen (or maybe it has been that long since I have had real money).

love your new profile pic too ~ micki

Thanks Micki, I have always been fascinated with US quarters, ever since I was a little girl. I don't like all of this new fangled stuff that they are doing to our money though. The state quarters were cool, but the new nickels are ugly, IMHO.

I don't have a new lense, I used the macro setting on my Olympus digital & found some new things to play with on GiMP. I am thinking about getting a new camera though-I just got some prints back & they were pretty disapointing.

I am tossing around the idea of printing up a "professional" portfolio & trying to peddle myself to take pictures of people's kids & weddings & stuff. I might as well try, just need to get organized, that's the tough part!

Thanks for your reviews!

Love your new stuff!

When you get teenagers you never have money! I agree I don't like the states it just overdid them! i really like this Gimp stuff. I'll have to look it up! I downloaded it but never saw this feature... hmmm! I have been using Microsoft Digital Imaging suite as it was on sale but I am waiting for VISTA as I bought a new laptop for me just to do pictures with (and Publishing). I am just so bored being at home all day long since I can't drive anywhere and it is either shop online or mess with pictures. Thanks for the compliment. You need to take some pics of your new smile and hair do and do some fun photo shopping!! You really look great in your profile! I do miss the old pic... it was so cute with your daughter in it! I think getting a "real" portfolio done is a great idea and going on and doing some work for others would be a good stepping stone to a home based business! I myself am planning on working on doing some Publishing and working on flyers and booklets as soon as more word gets out that I do that sort of stuff. All it takes is for people to know about it and "poof".

Your stuff is really looking great too! It is funny if I PS stuff it is good but if I take a picture of something it is BLAH!! But I am trying. I can only do so much with a point and shoot camera. I'm always looking forward to whatever you post next :) ~ micki

Hi Again Micki,

My new hair & smile? Ha...thanks, I need both! I have hair that never looks the same 2 days in a row & if I smile a "certain way" my teeth look somewhat straight. Thanks though, that is such a nice compliment! :)

I used a feature on Gimp for this called Polar Co-ords (under filters>distorts>polarcoords.

I just posted a pic my house & it got a ton of 3/3s. People...what do they want??

It aint the Taj Mahal & it is a good pic of my house. This site frustrated me sometimes, I have been posting work on another site called Photopoints-you should check it out.

When my hair was short it was the same way! And... your smile is the same way... now you know why I don't smile in my pics (I have that silly crooked smile)! Besides PS it the way you want anyway ;) ~ ha! 3's... I figured out if you post and night forget it!! All the 3's come out then big time!! Andrew posted and bang 6's 3's in 10 minutes WOW!! I have one pic that has about 6 3's on it (of course it probably deserves it) The things that I take four hours working with PS on those are the ones I go... hello it is suppose to look like that! It is art. Did you actually look at it! ~ but then again it is the people that comment on it that I care most about.

More contrast is needed on the faces of the coins. A little sharpening would help too. Interesting and unique composition. Also, the pic of your house is fine -- its a great snapshot of a house, that could be the centerpiece of your photo album, but is that all you want that photo to be?
