eachica 0 Posted February 2, 2007 Interesting capture... unfortunately your focus is off... prolly due to low light and camera shake. Link to comment
rob valine 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Actually Erin, I suppose that the focus could have been a little better. I am happy with the results of the photo under the circumstances. When I shot this one It wasn't just low light and slow shutter speeds. It was done on the fly and at 200mm. I was standing in an entrance being told by a security guard that the area was full to capacity and that I would have to leave. I saw the rider coming up and pulled my camera up to get the shot. It was a manual focus camera and there wasn't much time to focus, only a split second to react. So maybe you're right. Maybe the focus could have been better. Sometimes we have to settle for what we are able to get and we can't always control the circumstances that we shoot under. Photographers don't always have the luxury of shooting under ideal conditions. More often than not, they don't. Unfortunately, this is the only shot I got from this level. I had to move to the 3rd level in the building for the remainder of the event because it was the only place I could get in. There were sell out crowds at the X-Games. The image is a little soft. But, I believe it could be useable for certain things. If an editor needed a 1/4 page image, It might not be too bad. I have an 8"x 10" enlargement of this image that actually looks pretty good.
