Breathtaking. Excuicite. Perfect eye stopper. And I so much would like to say that this is mine, but the hard facts are, that I am not able to produce anything this beautiful... :-)

The composition is very nice, but I have a hard time reconciling the amount of light in the sky (the source) with the amount of light being reflected off the objects on the ground. This natural scene is out of balance with the natural world as I know it.

It is quite dramatic however I would have to agree with Stephen. It almost looks like two different photos because of the contradiction of light. Even when using a grad ND, the lower half should be slighter darker than the top. Having said that, I still love the photo.

Hi Stephen and Will....it's something i've notice that the reflexion of the sky on the ground is missing.Well i can't explain that to you guys but when i shot that picture i had a 3 stop hard step ND.The only modifications i've made on that shot were, contrast and i had it a little bit more dark from the original.

Looks weard but was like that....no digital alterations.I do not do photos with digitals alterations like taking a sky from a pic to match it with another one. Sorry...you get it like it was on that cold March morning.

Thank you...Marc

And I agree with Will....it is a dramatic shot. It may be that the 3-stop split ND filter was too strong, and perhaps a 2-stop or 1-stop would have provided a better balance while retaining the great color in the clouds. In a scene with a very bright ground, I'd even want to try a shot with no filter at all, just to see if that would be able to capture the range of light (and colors).

You know Stephen...you're probably right. If you take a look at a part of the snow..it's almost bleach...i had troubles finding the right shuttle and i had only a 3 stop split ND that morning.I remember that it was freaking cold out there...so i had few seconds to take the shot..and than my fingers were almost white and hurting.

Anyway...Thanks a lot for comments Stephen!...Marc.

A kiss from God in God's country! Lovely image Marc, the broken ice leading the eye up to those spectacular blue buildings. Wonderful.

I photographed in Tadoussac area a few years back and have fallen in love with the Charlevoix region and the Gaspe. A little too cold for me in the winter though so I commend you for braving the elements! :-)) Nicely done.
