I also had one which had a very similar composition as yours. What a coincidence! I took my version a night before yours. Mine doesn't have water, but a nice layer of clouds ;)

Gday Alan -well that is uncanny - the similarity in our shots. I had taken comet shots on the 2 previous nights and realised that I had to get a really strong foreground to add impact. This great location was only 5 minutes out of town. Thanks for the nice comments.

I can understand the need for foreground elements to provide both scope and setting. But I can't say I'm a fan of power lines, which detract from almost any natural landscape imho. However, I haven't seen any other shots of still water reflecting the comet, and that effect is fantastic. You've got a keeper.

Very neat photo, the powerlines almost look like robots that don't belong. Intruders to a cosmic world.
