lburk1 0 Posted January 31, 2007 As suggested here is a copy of the Imperial Dunes photo without the tree showing. Let me know which is better. The one thing about the tree is the depth it provides. Maybe it would be better though with it moved to one side. Let me know what you think please. Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Great photo. I love the contrast between light and shadow. Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted January 31, 2007 I have not seen the other version with the tree, but the shapes of the dunes and the way the curves go from front left to upper right center work well. In the large view the boundary between dunes and sky is odd - I assume because you inserted this sky from another photograph, right? If you are going to go down that path, it might look a bit more realistic to a picky viewer if you feathered the border between sand and sky so that it had about the same sharpness as other elements of the photo. (If you did not add the sky after the fact, I'm even more curious about the "jaggy" border...) Take care, Dan Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 31, 2007 Lavern, I do prefer this version. This is more elemental, and the addition of a piece of vegetation just seemed out of place -- it did not match. However, I had not noticed the sky previously, and the presence of stars really enhances this image for me. Nicely done. Link to comment
bj_rn_tore_rekve_seim 0 Posted January 31, 2007 I just like it, the colour contrasts are splendid, as well as the shadows and lines, exellent work :) 7/6 Link to comment
lburk1 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Thank you all for the comments. I did add the night sky (I stated that in the first version I should have done so here) Thanks for the feathering tip Dan. I am a Photoshop CS2 neophyte so all tips are teaching aids. But both photos were taken from same general area of the desert but at different times. Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted February 1, 2007 I believe this one's better...something happen to the color though. Link to comment
