ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted April 19, 2002 Less is more. This is just a perfect example. Strong and yet simple. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
tim_foster3 0 Posted April 19, 2002 Wow - I like this picture. You can almost reach out and feel the texture of the wall - which is excellent. The light it was captured in is just right for this kind of picture : any more and you wouldn't have got the lovely shadows on the wall - any less, and it was just be "a big yellow wall". Nice one. timo_laaksonen 0 Posted April 19, 2002 Ill be shooting another "yellow" picture soon as get the right kind of light on the wall near that same location. It will have more scale but maybe ill call it Yellow2 :) Link to comment
ed_berman6 0 Posted April 19, 2002 You need more "breathing" space over the top window and under the bottom window, to counterbalance the large empty space in the middle. Link to comment
timo_laaksonen 0 Posted April 19, 2002 have more breathing space if it were possible I can assure you. But if you look very closely to the top right corner you might see some black there, thats a part of the buildings roof, so I decided that I realy didnt want to break the yellow color that much just to give it space Link to comment
mischakoning 0 Posted June 18, 2002 the picture is good but I have to agree with what Ed said. When this is not possible, as you suggested, I would crop this picture into two pictures, one of each window. Have the top window on the top left or right of a yellow field. have the bottom window on the bottom right (also crop a little off of the right hand side yellow). I took similar in Stockholm, a few years back. The saturated colours are just great! Link to comment
kris_bennett 0 Posted March 26, 2003 Amazing color! This one and 'red' would look amazing hanging next to each other on the wall. Link to comment
timo_laaksonen 0 Posted May 6, 2003 This was one of the first photographs I uploaded to this website about a year ago and so I decided that it was time to give this photo some attention again. The photo was taken in my hometown Lahti, and the photo was actually captured atleast partially as random. I just saw this yellow wall with sunrays bursting on it and I thought i'dd take a shot. After I got home and loaded the photo up to my computer I started to use photoshop on it not actually knowing what was I doing. But, after alittle cropping, collor correction and saturation this was the result. What do you think? Link to comment
koska 0 Posted May 6, 2003 Wonderful texture. I agree with Ed though. Since it is already manipulated in PS, you could have cloned some more yellow space above the smaller window, thus giving it some breathing space. It would not have been a major manipulation, and since it would add to the shot significantly, i think it would have been justified. Cheers! Link to comment
