vdhamer 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Thanks for having a closer look. Any suggestions/comments? Link to comment
jkwiatkowski 0 Posted January 27, 2007 I've always liked all kinds of rusty stuff and that's why I stopped by your photo for a minute. In my opinion the subject is really cool, but I don't like the crop you've chosen. I would rather show some more details in a tighter crop. The shot seems also a bit overexposed, so it would be clever to use some PhotoShop magic on it (just to adjust brightness/contrast and possibly modify the color and saturation a bit). If you don't mind, I will give it a quick try. Regards, Janusz Link to comment
vdhamer 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Thanks for the help. I symphathise with your modifications (gamma, saturation). To my relief, I found that I can duplicate the tricks. My problem is that I remember the chain as mainly silver painted with rust poking through - rather than the other way around. And that I know that this is on a seriously maintained sailing ship (pretty sure it is the Mir) based on time stamps. So... your picture is more interesting, but less like what the admiral would like to see ;-).By the way, this was shot as JPG rather than RAW -RAW would have been helpful to save the highlights.Peter Link to comment
jkwiatkowski 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Yes, you're quite right about... the admiral ;) So, here's another try. This time, monochromatic. I've also checked b&w - looks good to me. p.s. Thanx for visiting my portfolio and leaving a comment. Greetings from snow-covered Poland, Janusz Link to comment
