with a camera like that and compared to the rest of your portfolio this is a poorly executed shot. the reflection is too bright. the sky as a result appears too dark. what were you thinking? this is just a poor shot.

Excactly like mr. Puck say! I think is just metering problem of your equipment for poor dynamic range. Compositions is also poor. Everything on the left side, behind main subject is useless. Subject it seems like interesting part of something to works well alone with man on the right side. Maybe try to isolate just that. Also on the first part of pic is too much concrete. You can do better then this. Cheers

I'm deeply thankful for both your comments, this is the kind of criticism that inspires me to try harder; and evidently one important things that turned my attention towards this site, as a place to share and to learn.

I encourage you to see and comment on my other photos, and to continue giving me this kind of advice in the future. Regards, JC

hello juan, you have just the right spirit to be here and i am glad that you have reacted the way you have. i had taken a long look at your portfolio of gallery pictures before commenting on this. the NEW YORK and ARCHITECTURE shots are almost universally good with throughtful composition and well worked exposure. i enjoyed the perspectives on many of those pictures. it was because i enjoyed them so much this picture seems to be at odds with those and it made me wonder if it was the same camera and photographer taking the same shots! my suggestion is that whatever you were doing with the rest of your portfolio, continue to shoot in that way because those results were very promising and well worth putting up for review here.

Please allow me to disagree with the above comments. I do not feel that the reflection is too bright nor the sky too dark. If this were a documentary shot, the comment might have some merit. But as an artistic picture, I think it has great presence and power.
