darius.tulbure 0 Posted January 27, 2007 Great shot, but why this zymotic yellow? Really, the composition is outstanding... A sepia toning should do. Link to comment

john falkenstine 1 Posted January 28, 2007 Shame on anybody for even thinking that this is cute and shame on photo.net for allowing a badly abused child to be used in this manner. I feel this image should be deleted. Anybody who thinks this is cute is sick. Link to comment
darius.tulbure 0 Posted January 28, 2007 John, how do you know that he`s abused? Is he crying? The tear on his left chick convinces us all that yes, he`s been crying. But at his age I was crying alot too, and I`ve never been abused. Does he look poor? Yes. Is he? Probably. But what moral law prohibes you taking photographs of poor people? So, he is a poor little kid, all dirty, with a bird in his hands, a child that he`s been crying. Obviously this is all about probability. Probably what I said before it is true, even though the tear might be an appearence, and his messy look doesn`t absolutly imply poverty (kids in country side, especially little kids look like this almost regardless the social status of their parents). So, the final questions. Is it possible that this kid was abused? Absolutely! Is it probable that this kid was abused? No. Link to comment
gerfoy3 0 Posted January 28, 2007 John, If his face wasn't here no one would give a rats ar*e about him. If he is abused at least more thoughts will go his way now than before his face was put on PN. But yea, I wouldn't call it cute but also wouldn't say its wrong. Photography isn't supposed to be about what is morally correct or incorrect. This type of image is supposed to pull your emotions apart and that is what this image does. Great shot BTW Ger.. Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Superb image!! The child holds this bird as if it were his last thread of hope - it is interesting that the bird is white - like a "Peace dove" - very powerful symbol of hope and peace - which this little child appears to be lacking at the moment. Just a very exceptional image - my deepest respect! Link to comment
sunny m 0 Posted January 28, 2007 The eyes are captured perfectly. And bokeh is sublime. I would love to hear the story behing the picture. Great pic. Keep it up. Link to comment
selimaksan 0 Posted January 28, 2007 i had almost similar childhood or at least had many same childhood friends. this is a real face of life as much as happy face of it.so can be photographed if the necessary permission had by photographer. can this be abused? YES.but i dont think this is an abuse.because it is not shared in a political forum.it has been shared just on PN where politics is the last matter of subject. if you think that this is an abuse , what do you think about abuse of HAPPY RICH KIDS.abuse of newborn babies, abuse of nu-bodies, abuse of love, abuse of any third world people, abuse of animals....abuse of ...abuse of... best regards.
