jmoody 0 Posted January 25, 2007 Hey Will, you're bringing up some pretty sweet memories of Maui (unfortunately, I'm at work now, it's overcast and probably 46 degrees, and the nearest ocean for me is colder than an eskimo's nose so... Thanks a lot! :-) Nice colors and great sky. In my mind, these often work better with an obvious in focus focal point (like rocks or something) to contrast with the moving blurred water. But that's (probably) just me. Enjoy the island while you can! p.s, Up off the Hana Highway, there's a place called Kinae (spelling) penninsula that looked to have some GREAT rocky outcroppings. Never got to be there at night, but could be awesome Link to comment
will king 0 Posted January 25, 2007 Hey Jeff. I'm back home now so I'm dealing with the cold too. I definitely agree with the focal point thing, like rocks or even a palm tree. This was our last night before leaving on a red eye flight so I realyy didn't have time to explore. I did do the road to Hana. Never made it to Hana though. We stopped at the Black Sand Beach. I still feel like I'm twisting and curving on that road. It was an almost drive and view. Haleakala was breath taking too. When were you out there? Maui was way better than Oahu. Link to comment
giggles 0 Posted January 25, 2007 "They're Backkkk!" Nice to see some of your beautiful landscapes/coastline shots again. Make sure to keep posting your potrait work too so once in awhile I can chime in. I can offer you nothing but praises with your landscape shots. Link to comment
yinkamd 0 Posted January 25, 2007 Nice shot, Will. Brings back memories. Thought we were only going to see portraits from you:-) The horizon is not straight though. Otherwise, excellent as usual Yinka Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted January 25, 2007 we were there in August of last year for my dad's wedding (hmmm. that sounds strange). Anyway, we did make it to Hana & a bit further... not quite to the 7 pools of something-or-other, but not far. Some fairly cool stuff on the way, but I truthfully expected better. Hoping to go back someday, but not for a while, I'm sure. Oh well Link to comment
