mary fran 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Really like this Jeff, I love when opportunities like this present themself, but I find them rare. Hope you don't mind, played a little with this, (shadows, highlights, midtones and dodge/burn) let me know what you think. Link to comment
jeffgermo 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Thanks for taking the time to do that. I appreciate it. I played around with the same variables and actually came up with something similar to yours, but ended staying with this one because, to me, the light seems to be softer and more mysterious. I have also done one in b&w, which I will submit tomorrow. It's fun to play around with the different possibilities. Thanks again. Jeff Link to comment
mary fran 0 Posted January 23, 2007 I find half the challenge with digital is perfecting your editing skills and it's a science in and of itself. And I'll admit I absolutely hate it most of the time but force myself to practice and occasionally stick my neck out (like this) to see how I'm doing! I love "light" shots, don't know if you've seen this portfolio, but a very distinct style in working with light, and beautiful compositions. http://www.photo.net/photodb/member-photos?user_id=2231437&include=all Rarindra Prakarsa Link to comment
jeffgermo 0 Posted January 23, 2007 It's good that you stuck your neck out. We can all learn if you do. Yes, I have seen Rarindra Prakarsa's work many times. It is amazing. I have no idea how he does it. It's almost magical. Thanks again, Mary. Keep on sticking your neck out and taking risks. Good for you. Jeff Link to comment
mary fran 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Thanks Jeff, I would personally give my eye teeth to know his technique :) Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted January 23, 2007 This is beautiful!! IMHO I think the colour is even better! The b/w loses the "fire" in the light and the deep rich colours in the forest floor. This is "heavenly"! I use that word because it reminds me of those wonderful inspirational images that remind us all there is a God! This capture of light is fantastic. Link to comment
jeffgermo 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks Jan. Hence the title, "Walking in the Light." It's funny, some people like the b&w better and others the color. I'm not sure what I prefer. They both lend a different feel. Link to comment
