kent_barry 0 Posted January 22, 2007 I was experimenting with a new flash. Is it too intrusive with its shadow placement? Thanks for looking. Link to comment
dcraton 3 Posted January 22, 2007 Nice image, notably in the larger size. Makes a great wallpaper. . .that's a compliment. No real advice here. Link to comment
iliafarniev 13 Posted January 22, 2007 Hello Kent. Intrusive? .. No. Perfect? .. Yes. In my view it is actually a bit too perfect. It is offcause a matter of personal tast and subjects nature. I think it is advantageous in many cases of flower photography to compose with a sense of free room and future grouth. With a touch of no-acomplishment and perspective if you like. I curently work with one snow white orchidea and kind of thinking of it and the way it is sometimes. In any case the image you present here is very beautyful partly because of the flowers natural beauty, partly because of your great photographic skills. I looket at it for long time with sense of aesthetic satisfaction. Many thanks. Ilia. Link to comment
ltfran51 0 Posted January 22, 2007 Since I'm new to all this, I was wondering how the background is so black to make the flower stand out? Was this accomplished using something like photo shop and focusing in on the background?? I think it's a grreat shot! Larry Franklin Link to comment
kent_barry 0 Posted January 22, 2007 Actually, it was easier than that to make the background black. I pinned a black T-shirt against the wall and isolated the flower against that as a background, while slightly "underexposing" the shot. I haven't figured out the intracacies of photoshop, yet. Thanks. Link to comment
