jed andrews 0 Posted January 21, 2007 These sewage pumps and valve are 100ft below the New York City Streets. Thanks for looking. Link to comment
paul_louis_villani 1 Posted January 21, 2007 Love your work mate! Wanted to give it 7/6 but couldn't due to PN restrictions! The colourings give this piece a real 3d sci / fi feel! Well done Jed! Link to comment
christinadurham 0 Posted January 21, 2007 Thank you for providing such a visual treat. Your wonderful use of colors takes something that would ordinarily be gross and makes it beautiful. Link to comment

hakon_soreide 0 Posted January 21, 2007 Looks like you've been using Photomatix for this shot to merge different exposures, am I right? But that creates a very interesting effect, making it look more like a painting than a photo, I feel, which is rather nice. Link to comment
jed andrews 0 Posted January 21, 2007 Yes, I used Photomatrix and CS2. The light source was sodium vapor and tungsten which caused the the color shift. Thanks for viewing this image. Link to comment

vallery 0 Posted January 23, 2007 great industrial shot. did you use the tone mapping in Photomatix? I am keen to use it. Works well for this shot. vallery Link to comment
jed andrews 0 Posted January 23, 2007 Tone mapping was done with Photomatrix as a plug in for CS2. The colors were enhanced by changing the mode to lab colors instead of RGB. Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted June 19, 2008 Well, I think it stinks. How did you get access to these amazing places? I can only dream of getting to places like this, and old industrial places and machines are one of my favorite topics. It was so upsetting to see that power plant around 39th Street go down. I always wanted to go in there and get pictures before it was too late. Your HDR work is an inspiration. You;re one of the few photographers that use it well and it becomes just a tool to improve an already great image instead of being the most important part. This is just an amazing shot. I hadn't thought of LAB color as a post HDR technique but will be next time around. Ray Link to comment
