toddlaffler 0 Posted January 19, 2007 Decided to make this one a high key image...did I go too far? :) Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted January 19, 2007 I love the way you did this!! ~ I don't think it would have come out any better any other way. These eyes are just gorgeous! ~ micki Link to comment
edward_wright1 0 Posted January 20, 2007 Greetings Todd; Very nice retouching. I like the high key picture, but the eyes are a touch too much (just a tiny bit); but all and all a great shot. My guess is everyone is going to love this one because of the creativity and effectiveness of the shot & reworking. 6/6 Link to comment
jcg23 0 Posted January 21, 2007 Hi, I'm sorry but this is not to my taste, mainly due to the over-the-top high key effect and the over emphasis on the eyes, which confers a very strange look to the child. The very wide open eyes is particularly unsettling for me. I have seen quite a few high key images like this lately and they do seem to be well liked, I must be a odd ball. This shot must have some merit than I originally marked as it seems to have elicited such a response in me. Technically well done though. Best regards Jane Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted January 22, 2007 This reminds me of the old 50-60's white on white images of babies that were so popular. One of my cross processing experiments I work on occasionally. You've done well. Here's a different version I played with to show you how they whited out in a fuzzy oval & made the image a little warmer. I just can't seem to get this process exactly where I want it. Ever in search of the answer. film? Hope you don't mind my play :) Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted January 22, 2007 Insomniac at work:) I couldn't resist hand-coloring this one. Perfect for the effect. Hope you don't mind. Link to comment
toddlaffler 0 Posted January 22, 2007 Yes, now that you mention it, it does sort of remind me too of some 50's photographs. I wonder what it is that makes 50's photos so distinctive. I think in general they were a little more contrasty? I'm not usually a fan of oval vignettes, but I don't mind it so much with this. The hand coloring is a bit much for me as well, but I know there certainly are people (parents) who do like it. I don't mind you monkeying with my image...hey, it's your time. :) Thanks for all your input on my recent posts Jayme, as always, I appreciate it. Take care, Todd Link to comment
