kurt2006 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Mike! This shot is one of those beautiful combinations of delicate and strong. The IR amplifies the compositional elements nicely and works really well with how you have framed everything in the image. Link to comment
alpenglow 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Thank you Kurt for that comment. I also have this image posted in my "Infrared" folder, and it didn't get quite the feedback I had expected. This happens to be on be of my personal favourite images (for the same reasons you mentioned), but I guess we're in a minority :)... which is OK. This place (the redwood forests of N. California), are a magical place to me, and I struggled to get a few photos that I thought did the place justice. Mike K. Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted January 17, 2007 I agree that there are many places that are difficult to "do justice" but it is possible to do enough justice to encourage people to get outdoors and possibly visit these places. The Grand Canyon is one place heavily photographed but I will never forget the goosebumps I got the first time I approached the rim. No photo can prepare you for that. The same with the redwoods. Your new bio photo, for example heheh. But this particular photo captures some of the wonder and beauty of the place. Thanks. Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 4 Posted April 1, 2011 Brilliant capture of these magnificent redwoods - the IR giving the green foliage a kind of mystical lightness. Link to comment
