i've heard it said that all photographics are neurotic in that it's the painters that can't paint that turn to photography. i don't agree, but you gotta love technology! very nice interpretation.

A nice example of using phtography to create very painterly graphic design elements. It doesn't have that canned Photoshop filter look; it looks painted.
