thadley 15 Posted January 16, 2007 My neighbors have a 'green thumb' and I was invited over to do justice to some of their flowers this summer. I managed to find an angle that would create a colorful background. They liked the result and I hope you do also. Link to comment

thadley 15 Posted January 16, 2007 I tried to choose an angle that would create a colorful background that hopefully adds visual value to the main subject. Hope you like it! Link to comment
iliafarniev 13 Posted January 16, 2007 Like it alot. So exquisite and truth to the nature of the plant. Thanks. Ilia. Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Your neighbours must be very pleased! This is very beautiful! (actually if you could get your neighbours to come by and do my garden this spring I'ld appreciate it!)That background looks as lovely as this flower! Link to comment
sandy_gennrich 0 Posted January 17, 2007 I agree, the background is fantastic! I love the color pallette that emerged. It feels like you have a great Monet painting in the background with a super-sharp subject. Very nice. Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Tony, I really like what you did here. I am impressed with your liquid gallery, but this was achieved with just light, focus and aperture. The arrangement of colors in the BG complements the subject amazingly well. The white areas just below the flower (lower left) might be masked out (or not). Cheers. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 17, 2007 Kurt: You do have a point re the white area below the flower. I will see if my limited PS skills can work on that. To all of the others who have stopped by to view, comment and rate, a hearty thank you.Regards, Link to comment
mferencz8 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Great colors, the backround is the star of this photo Link to comment
danielmongeau 0 Posted January 17, 2007 Tony, The colours and composition are fantastic. My eye travels between the background, the stem and the area under the flower. You can almost smell it. Also reminds me of the Spanish Dancer (saltwater fish). Great work! Link to comment

truemarkphotography 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Wonderful concept and fantastic execution, Tony. You've opened my eyes to a new possibility in photographing flowers...much appreciated! Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted August 9, 2010 It is amazing that when one revisits something taken and processed over three years ago that there are things I would do differently today. The dark mauve at the bottom right is a little too rich for my current tastes and when I get a chance I will modify that area. Link to comment
