adrianhinojosa 0 Posted April 14, 2002 I agree that diffused lighting would be nice, but it would give a completely different mood and maybe this is the feeling Patrick wanted to capture. It may be worth doing this scene again with some diffused light just to see how the results can alter the feeling of this photo Link to comment
stanislas_mourdon 0 Posted April 14, 2002 Her hands look very old, her face not so much...I think the light could have turn the shot more dramatic (more light on the face, less on the rest)it's not (on my mind) worked enougth... Link to comment
chaucer_wells 0 Posted April 15, 2002 I really appreciate the feedback. This shot was actually a "candid"...I had no control over where the subject's actions...I merely observed her movements and exposed the film at what I consider to be the most opportune time. To make things even more interesting, my camera was loaded with 100 speed slide film and the ONLY light in the (very dark) cabin came from the window. Fortunately, I had a tripod and the woman said she was not bothered by me taking a few photos. I actually cropped out part of the window but could put it back in if the consensus is that it improves the composition. Link to comment
rogan 0 Posted April 15, 2002 One of the gret things about the work of the Dutch and Flemish masters (and others before and after) was the mysterious source of their light. It wasn't always obvious. The same could be said here. The window to the left Link to comment
