ken_james 0 Posted January 14, 2007 brent: they say the 'devil's in the details'...there are many details in this photo that i think takes what could have been a 'bird on a stick photo' and makes it really effective and interesting...the blurred sleet (at least it appears to be sleet), the sharp focus on the bird's perch (had it been soft i would have found it distracting), the way the branches act as a frame around his(or her) head, the gray/blue sky area (which seems to permeate the entire photo), and the cropping (had i shot this, i would have had more negative space in front of the bird, not that back. You did the opposite - but that that is something that really works here! ken Link to comment
brent downey 0 Posted January 14, 2007 Oh thanks so much for critiquing.... I'm new at this sort of...and working on the cropping, etc. If I had cropped it differently there would have been a truck right in view, and very distracting. Anyhow... I shot this during a blizzard through mothers kitchen window... window closed, so it took a bit of editing (lightroom) to fix it up. Thanks so much. Brent Link to comment
