Haven't any idea how you accomplished this, but you did a magnificent job of it.Colours are beautiful, design within design, fading out, above. Excellent.

In fact it wasn't difficult - a combination of luck, superb judgement (she joked) and serendipity. Oh yes, and I am partial to a nice shot of color. I used one of my photos in the threads folder, and then manipulated it in Photoshop in a couple of passes, marbled and then drew the result from that up and around as it started to suggest a flame shape to me. I'm tempted to crop it a tad on the left, say the 10 or 15% in, what do you think? Thank you for your rating!

I spent so much time stydying this, I came to a similar conclusion, and had to see what it looked like in "Basic Black" May be too extreme a crop, for you, so you show me yours.

Well guys, as you can see I was either a lot more timid or a lot less radical. My thinking was to get the picture so that it was not a "straight on center view", and had enough of the secondary flames - the darker, more muted echos, still creating a rounded form overall, drawing the eye in. Less in-your-face, the 'brights' shout do that all by themselves! I actually like more murky colors as well, creating a foil for those brights in the foreground. I know I probably sound like I've analysed this far too much but I recall having some conscious thought about this murky-vs-brights as I did it. My main concern was that I didn't over work it and the whole thing became a uniform brown, I think I stopped in the nick of time.

You may be right, and it needs a heavier hand on the crop than I've given it. Will have to look at it for a bit, see how they both sit with me. Actually this pic is getting a lot of hits, maybe someone else would like to venture an opinion?
