lbaranyai1 0 Posted January 12, 2007 I didn't have to select too much, it was a dreadful day/but lucky for me/ in Roma. Szia; Laszlo Link to comment
jana 1 Posted January 12, 2007 Really great idea. As far as the composition - I might consider cropping the right part just to make the umbrella more in the ayttention. The right dark part just takes a lot of my attention away. cheers Jana Link to comment
lbaranyai1 0 Posted January 12, 2007 Sorry Jana, I have to disagree. This picture is not just about the RED UMBRELLA, but the effect of an unusual winter in Roma. It is very rare when snow falls in that city, and when it does the snow completely changes the street life. No turists, no vendors, no beggars are on the street. So the tarp covered scooter in the right corner is important for me to give back the sense of a stopped city life. I agree it is a bit unorthodox framing, but the oddness is part of the experience of an unusual winter. Thank you for your comment. Cheers; Laszlo Link to comment
wood 1 Posted January 12, 2007 In addition to many of the comments above, what I love about this image is the texture created by the falling snow. It softens the hard lines of the buildings and creates a slight painting like effect. Very well done. Link to comment
dugstervision 0 Posted January 13, 2007 The right side acts as a kind of 'anchor' for me, with the cart resting in the photo's corner. I think Tarkovsky would approve! (loved the sound and images of 'Solaris') Link to comment
sheryl_w__blue_mt._ 0 Posted February 1, 2007 you have affectively presented a somewhat typical chilly, "day to day" scene... (I can feel the pleasantness or aggravation of having to walk about in wintery weather)....love the scooter-cycles resting against the wall Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted May 4, 2007 Not only this is, as usual one of your beautiful images, but you have managed to capture Trevi at the only moment of its entire glory, without people, during winter. Excellent. Link to comment
iren 1 Posted September 30, 2007 I LOVE this photo. It tells so much and you have captured it so very well. By the way, my roots are from Hungary, although I was born in Canada. I do speak Hungarian myself, but have difficulty with writing it! Nagyon szeretem a fotok amit latok tuled! Szia, Iren Link to comment
