mbevel 0 Posted January 11, 2007 Cold winter's day (not many of them this year yet) in Sandy Hook, NJ. Trying to capture the feel of isolation of this row of deserted houses along water's edge (if you look closely, you can see a Navy ship between the center houses)... Link to comment
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT 0 Posted January 11, 2007 Very interesting; I think a crop which exludes the right most bit of house might help a bit; am torn between this and the colour version. Believe this needs a bit more post processing work to turn up the value levels somewhat such that there is somewhat more luminescence off of the faces of the houses. Might also possibly work as a square crop, houses near the 1/3 mark, lots of sky above. Link to comment
sam starkey 0 Posted January 11, 2007 Yes you have captured a foreboding sceen. The photograph does set a desolate mood and I like it.My only sugestion is a problem I have had also, dealing with vertical shots. That is if you get them to small to fit the monitor in there entirity, you loose valuable pixels, on the other hand,if the photograph is to tall, they have to be scrolled, that is ok for words, but not photographs.Catch 22.On your shot here I removed some of the foreground and it did not louse any of it's impact.6-6 Link to comment
