The dog in question is a GSP (German Shorthaired Pointer, or Curzhar), and other than finding birds in the field, her main job is to hold very still after she points one. So we practice a lot on staying put. The magic word is "whoa!" Praise for doing what we ask is what she lives for! We set aside the treats for those really tough requests.
