jennifercatron 9 Posted January 10, 2007 This isn't bad, but the mouth is a little quirky looking, and the stark white background doesn't really give the shot much character. Link to comment
petewelsh 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Thankyou Jennifer .. I appreciate your comment and agree with you entirely.. The white background was supplied by the person who organised the evening .. Now I have seen the pictures "big" I don't like it either .. I cannot complain though as it was a free evening with all studio lighting and a bit of guidance supplied free also the models were paid for by someone else .. I wish my confidence taking the pictures was supplied.. I found it pretty daunting talking to the models, I was glad someone else was there with a bit/lot more experience.. I was not expecting my pictures to be up to top standard but in my first evening "having a go" I am pleased with what I learnt and a few what I would class as acceptable portraits and hopefully I will get a bit of guidance from the great bunch of folk in PN .. Thankyou again ~ PETER ~ :) Link to comment
roger_kallet 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Peter, The smile is a "Mona Lisa" smile and it's OK with me; and her expression has a come hither look, to some appealing. As for the background, yes it's bland, but since it's a solid color it would be easy using PS to make it any shade you wanted. If the picture was going to be used commercially, a post- proccessing professional could do it between two sips of tea. You are off to a good start. Roger Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 31, 2007 The above points are well taken, of course. But so many people would be very happy with a treatment like this. I've seen entire wedding albums that didn't have a portrait as nice as this one. Try changing the background to light blue... Link to comment
