shacknav 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Straightforward airshow shot - just to get back into the swing of things after a house move and indulging in a new computer system. This image not a composite - working on some though. Thanks Jim! Your comments appreciated. Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted January 9, 2007 Love it. Thanks for sharing another gorgeous Spit. Personally, I think that this shot is beautiful aside from the subject matter - I think the sky and the light give it a very painting-like flavor, and as such, should be appreciated even by people without my well documented obsessions! :) Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Really great lighting, something I rarely seem to get. Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted January 11, 2007 Alex, You mean we have the same "lighting guy" working for us? :) Jokes aside, its really an outstanding catch in this shot, and Alex, you are being very modest - we've seen your portfolio, you know! :-) Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted January 11, 2007 Hi Alex and Peter - a good New Year to both of you, and all the other critiquers and celebrated nitpickers. Have to confess that this is one of the 'clan' shots (Jim) and derives from the Niagara show in '06. As that is roughly equal in latitude to Madrid you certainly get a better share of the good light stuff - maybe this summer at Legends, and then again maybe not! Have some more 'airshow' shots from the same source which I will post sometime later. Thanks, guys, must lean on Jim to post his own stuff. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted January 12, 2007 Peter, I meant on Spitfires ;-) Pat - how many of you Spiers' are there?? Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted January 12, 2007 Clan details. Actively photographing and with posted images on PN there are Dad (me), son Jim (Canada), son Duncan, son Gavin, g.son Connor, g.son Duncan (little Dunc) plus one son and daughter who don't know which end of a camera to point (can't win em all). Keeping the database/archives sorted is a full time job. You may well meet us (me, Duncan and two youngsters) at Duxford this year - Jim is having a year off. Thanks again for all your input - much appreciated by all. Pat,etc. Link to comment
