Oh, after 10 minutes of research, everything`s clear now! Almost everybody received good ratings and comments from cherlyn .!

I still can`t believe this! Mate rating in the lowest grade possible!

cherlyn ., I will give you 4/3. This is what this photo deserves. I do not need your ratings nor comments anyway. Not in this way.

Did you actually spend a moment to read my comment? I've commented on a couple of your photos and made honest comments (even though you don't comment on my photos).

What you're refering too is actually "networking" and, I don't disagree with you.

My photos that Cherlyn comments on, she generally makes a positive comment and a suggestion for improvement. That's what I did on this photo. I will restate ~ "Anyone could have taking this photo" and that's not where the talent is. The talent, her talent is in the presentation!

Darius, your missing what makes this a very good presentation.

Regards, Dave

Sorry Dave I missed your portofolio, it is very good indeed! Cherlyn . has a beautiful portofolio too, but not this photo. What is so special in the presentation? The panoramic shape? That`s no big deal!

Darius, you're not alone in your assessment. . .this particluar societal ring has been active for some time, and has proven time and time again that critical critiques are a waste of typing. Not what they're here for. And as was noted by another, in the "large" view, you can easily see Cherlyn's eraser work to bring out some mid-tones.

And really, Cherlyn, I'm not hacking on your work, I'm merely stating that compared to many other in the TRP, this image's appearance is inconsistent.

Christopher, now I see the brush traces when viewing larger... When I was beggining to think my monitor isn`t well calibrated!

As I stated before, Cherlyn has really good works. This is not among them, not even close, and she should be mad on those whose comments are so appreciative and ratings so high. If you get all these prizings for any kind of work you do, how can you know when what you did really stands out or is just an average pic? This is how a top sunrise/sunset photo should look!

There are post editing issues here but I'm confused at your comments. I have to say, I think Cherlyn would be the last person to be upset if you just stated objective opinions of her photos.

If you, I and others would do just that, others would feel more comfortable stating honest pros and cons to a photo. ALL photos have both good and bad elements, just present your opinions without being aggressive or demeaning to the poster.

Cherlyn, sorry for using this to express my opinions. I know there are forums for just this type of expression.

All things considered, I'm surprised there isn't more color in the sunrise (China sunrise). One would think there would be more smoke and particles in the area after a cold night.

Regards to all, Dave

Thanks Dave, for your objective stand. I totally agree with your " ALL photos have both good and bad elements, just present your opinions without being aggressive or demeaning to the poster." I accept honest & sincere critiques, that's how one learn. (I know my pro-processing needs improvement) But putting them in a demeaning way is another matter, that's the reason I choose to remain silent to Darius's comments. Each has their own point of view but putting them in a rude way is not to be desired. I always believed that compliment other's good works, critique honestly & sincerely other's shortcomings in a photo. Ecnouraging words strive one to accept & better oneself.
