gnashings 5 Posted January 9, 2007 I don't know if this is the right category for this, but I just wanted to share with you an image that, in me at least, generated a feeling of hope - the one little leaf that got through, made its way past our human bindings. Hope it brings a smile to your faces as it did to mine! Comments welcome and appreciated. Link to comment
lanam 0 Posted January 9, 2007 Hi Peter! I like the comment you wrote, beside the photo, that is really special, though so simple. I like the gentle colors and texture of the wood. Great framing, too! Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted January 10, 2007 Thank you Lana - this is an unusual picture for me, sunject wise, etc. But I just couldn't let this hopeful image disappear forever! I am glad you enjoyed the picture and the feeling it seems to stirr up! Link to comment
mark_mcdade 0 Posted February 7, 2008 I hope this does not fall into "the kind of comments that come from too much reading of photo forums" but this photo is flat, in contrast and composition. If you are attempting a b&w conversion may I suggest Some adjustments in levels or curves or a little more time in the developer. Maybe you could try a color version with some light painting on the leaves, you know, to highlight the subject, leaving the rest to our imagination. lol, mark Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted February 18, 2008 Admittedly, the scans do lack contrast... and lose sharpness. But, I assure you that there is no "converting" involved - this is an actual photograph, scanned from print. I am not sure how this relates to light painting... I am assuming your intent was at humour, but in either case - the comments on the flat look on the monitor are points well taken. However, leaving a print in developer does nothing to increase contrast - and the neg is plenty contrasty... Perhaps you should stick to file editing, as long as you think its photography, its all that matters. Link to comment
