I saw one of these guys for the first time out in South Eastern Alberta a few weeks ago. I was out taking pictures and he was sitting on a telephone pole munching on a gopher. They are awe inspiring when seen in the wild. I wish I had a longer lens in order to get a picture of him, but sadly as I approached he flew away. Nice capture.

Fantastic work! Was he about to take off into flight? Such a crisp and colorful piece. Very Nice!
